Trying to move on (advice) / I

Hoy hablé con B al cuadrado y me dio los siguientes consejos:

You are really smart, I wish I had a job for you, if I had one I'd hire you immediately. Your resume looks really good and shows your analytical skills and how good you are.

- To stay in the campus and learn about it apply for a lower job that you'd like, ie, AA3, here you could easily shine and demonstrate them (this is what you need to do, demonstrate to others that you can do this kind of work) that you know how to do Bairs and analytical stuff

- Write your work products: if you have done analytical work, write it so that you can show it in your interviews

- Apply for jobs even if they don't look interesting because when you go to the interviews that's where you'll learn more things about the job that are not posted and also you can tell them you can do more and they can offer you more things to do

- It takes about five years to get to a level you want or to move up the ladder, but even if you are comfortable in one position don't stay there for more than two years, you always have to look for more challenging stuff and move on

- Look for analysts positions in departments

- Get references not only from supervisors (maybe not in this case since they don't have to know you are looking for other places) but also from:
* Users that you have worked with
* Co-workers
* People that you have worked with in special projects

- Just keep on doing it, apply for as many jobs as you can
